Client Success Story
Florida’s First District Court of Appeal Achieves LEED Gold Certification
The LEED Gold certified First District Court of Appeal is unique among the five Florida District Courts of Appeal. It handles most of the appeals in state administrative law matters and is solely responsible for handling appeals in worker’s compensation cases. The geographic area covered by the First District is one of the largest in the country. The new facility would need to meet the stringent security measures of the Federal ATP standard and achieve at least Silver level LEED certification. With a very aggressive LEED accreditation effort, led by Barnett Fronczak Barlowe Architects and the PRBC team, the new building surpassed all requirements, receiving Gold level certification. This 111,000 square foot, state-of-the-art judicial complex was completed in January of 2011 after a 21-month construction schedule.
Peter Brown Construction would like to congratulate the Florida Department of Management Services on their sustainable project and commitment to the communities in which we live.
